Make These Resolutions for Smarter Advertising in 2014

As you dip your toes into all of the new beginnings and clean slates that come with the New Year, why not make a few resolutions that you can actually keep?
Prospect Genius has compiled a list of some of the best things you can do for your company’s online advertising campaign in the coming year. By putting into practice even a few of these suggestions for smarter advertising, you’ll see a greater return on your efforts over last year.

Resolutions to Improve Your PG Campaign

  1. Include your business name in your voice mail greeting. When matched with a friendly tone, it’s a professional touch that makes a strong first impression on prospective customers.
  2. Send us your company photos. We’ll add them to your LeadTrax™ site for a personal touch that appeals to prospects.
    • Pictures should reflect your industry’s expected level of professionalism. For example, appliance repairmen can pose next to their toolbox or truck, but tax attorneys should have a professional head shot.
  3. Do what you can to make sure your directory listings are populated with recent reviews. While this is somewhat out of your control, it’s important to keep in mind since prospective customers pay closer attention to reviews from the last few months.
  4. Remember Prospect Genius’s package options:
    • Add PPC to strengthen your campaign.
    • Use Boost to promote a seasonal offering.
    • Sign up for a local AdBlast to promote a special discount.
  5. Don’t let calls go to voice mail. There’s no excuse. Use your phone package options:
    • Send calls to your cell phone while you’re on the job. You can change the number yourself in the Client Portal.
    • Reroute calls so that they go to a different line after a few rings.
    • Hire an outside answering service as a last resort.
  6. Use the Client Portal. Our most successful clients regularly check the Portal to:
    • See their lead stats (calls and e-mails).
    • Listen to their call recordings.
    • Harvest client e-mail addresses by copying and pasting the log from the Portal into a separate spreadsheet.
  7. Check your e-mail. No matter what.
    • Set up the e-mail-to-call feature so you can keep track of your missed leads electronically and receive notification on your smartphone when your business misses a call.
    • Forward e-mails to multiple addresses so there’s a better chance of someone responding promptly to a lead.
  8. Periodically monitor your Google+ Local listing to ensure that information doesn’t change or disappear (which is known to happen as Google makes updates). Get a jump on inaccurate information before it affects your rankings.

One Big “Don’t”

Don’t provide fake information to anyone, ever. This particularly refers to Google+ Local. When they call to verify certain information about your company, be accurate and honest. If they find out that you’ve falsified information—and they will—your company’s listing will be severely penalized for a substantial amount of time. Trust us: Honesty is the best policy.

The Client Portal is an invaluable tool, providing a handful of free features that can empower you to boost your LeadTrax™ site, manage your leads, and improve your business’s success.

  • Company blog and photo gallery — You can access both the blog and the photo gallery through the Client Portal to post fresh content on your LeadTrax site on your own. Write a quick blurb about a recent job in the blog, and add accompanying pictures in the gallery. It’s a great way to frequently populate your site with new content, which will boost its SEO value overall.
  • Call monitoring and recording — Through the Client Portal, you can listen to and record all of the phone calls on your CallTrax™ line. By going back and listening to how you handle customer calls, you’ll be able to improve customer service and make sure that you’re closing the most deals.
  • Call tracking — Our CallTrax feature displays all of the calls that come through your phone line. It’s especially useful because you can track calls by time and date, which means you can see any patterns in the time of day or day of the week when customers tend to call most often and prepare accordingly.
  • Advanced phone package — This upgrade enables you to add extensions to your CallTrax line. You can also set up special call routing, wherein one phone line will ring for a few seconds, and if the call isn’t answered, it will roll to the next line, and so on. Stay Connected with Phone and E-mail Features

Our last post highlighted the photo gallery and blog features of your LeadTrax site, but we offer a whole bunch of other great features you may not be aware of. Today we want to focus on a number of other options we offer to make it easier for you to communicate with your prospective customers. After all, when it comes to sealing the deal, communication is vital, so we want to make it as easy as possible for you to connect with these potential clients!

E-mail to Robo-Call

Time is of the essence when it comes to closing a deal, and, unfortunately, with e-mail correspondence, sometimes you don’t see the message in a timely manner. So don’t let not responding to the message quickly enough cost you the lead! PG offers a complimentary feature that can turn your e-mails into calls: We’ll send the message to a robo-call service, which means when you answer the phone a robot will read the e-mail out loud to you. So if you have your cell on you, you won’t have to keep checking your e-mail to keep track of leads. If you’re the kind of pro who’s always on the go, this feature makes it easy to stay on top of those e-mail leads.

E-mail to SMS (Text)

We can also transform your e-mails into text messages for your convenience. This works just like the feature mentioned above, except that instead of a robo-call, you’ll receive an SMS message containing the first 140 characters of the e-mail.

Advanced Phone Package

Did you know that your CallTrax number can do way more than just monitor call volumes? We can also set up your CallTrax number to forward calls to different numbers (based on schedule or number of rings) and even add extensions… Don’t be limited by only connecting your CallTrax number to one phone.
Our three advanced phone options include:
1.    Multiple rings—If you have several different phone numbers where you’d like to receive calls, we can configure your CallTrax number to ring at each one in different fashions. A popular option is the “round-robin” style:  the first two rings can go to phone A, the next two rings can forward to phone B, and so on. You can also opt for sequential or simultaneous rings. These options increase the chances that an incoming call will be answered instead of missed. And missed calls often mean missed opportunities.
2.    Daily schedule—Would you rather receive phone calls at certain numbers depending on the time of day? We can do that, too! Let’s say, for example, that you want to receive leads only on phone A in the morning, on phone B in the afternoon, and on phone C in the evening. With our advanced phone package, that’s possible! We can also route your calls based on the day of the week.
3.    Extensions—If you have multiple lines, we can set up extensions for you. For example, you might have one line for customer service and another for parts, and you might want to allow leads to choose which line they want to connect to. For your convenience, we will set up extensions and even record the automated message, along the lines of: “Thank you for calling Advanced Appliance. To speak with customer service, please press 1; to order parts, please press 2.”
