FAQ

Q: Is there a contract?
A: Although we strive for a long-term relationship with our customers, there is no contract. Search Engine Optimization does require a ramp-up period with the search engines to register your site and reach peak performance. You should notice improving results over the first few months.

Q: What about hidden costs?
A: The fixed monthly fee you pay for the Prospect Genius service does NOT change based on the number of calls, clicks, site visits, or any other metric. Your bill will be consistent, predictable, and unchanging for the life of the program. Over time, the value you will see from that monthly fee will grow because the strength of your microsite's search engine placement will increase and drive more customers to you.

Q: How do I get started?
A: All you have to do is sign and return two short forms, answer a few questions about your business over the phone, then sit back and relax! We will do all the heavy lifting and your microsite will be created and live on the internet in no time!

Q: How do I know this is worth doing?
A: We have a comprehensive reporting system that includes web analytics software to measure such concrete details as monthly unique visitors, Google search terms, visitors from Google, in-site traffic data, traffic volume by page, referring sites, repeat visitors, repeat visitors monthly, traffic volume by browser, traffic volume by platform, and monthly traffic volume by page.

Q: What is SEO?
A: Search engine optimization (SEO) is the process of improving the volume and quality of traffic to a website from search engines via "natural" ("organic" or "algorithmic") search results for targeted keywords.

Q: What can SEO do for my business?
A: Anyone not actively pursuing a search engine optimization campaign is almost certainly missing out on business that their competitors are scooping up. Unless a customer can find your site quickly (which usually means you need to be in the top 10 results), you will miss out on the potential landslide of revenue from customers looking for your services online. SEO can not only increase the viability of your company online, but also generate lots of new business.

Q: What if I have a website already?
A: While it IS advantageous to forward your existing domain to the microsite we make, it is not required. Running the Prospect Genius site in parallel with your existing web presence will typically mean that customers will still find the Prospect Genius site but may also find your existing page. A major downside is that you will likely lose some of the accuracy of the reports because some traffic will be split across the two sites. It will, however, give us the chance to prove our value, which is something we always welcome. Our professional recommendation for achieving the highest revenue and conversion rates is to utilize our site exclusively.

Q: What is an expected return on investment?
A: Although results vary by business type and area, we aim to deliver three dollars in additional revenue for every dollar spent with us. For a $200 budget, we will strive to deliver $600 or more in additional revenue for your business.

Q: What can the reports tell me?
A: Like many other programs, you can learn all about the number of visitors to your site or types of web browsers that people are using. This is great, but what you really want to know (and what is truly valuable data) is the consumer behavior trends on your site. This is what tells you how to grow your business both online and off. Our reports drill into details that can expose customer interests that you never knew existed, which you can capitalize on to increase the revenue generated from each customer. For example, if you are a limousine service provider, and you find that people are searching for airport shuttles and finding your "airport shuttle" page but then navigating to the "sedan service," it would stand to reason that people who are interested in getting to the airport are also interested in the sedan service. This means that simply having the driver hand a small flyer or business card that advertises your sedan service to all your airport shuttle customers could lead to repeat business and more revenue per customer.

Q: How do you deal with my competition in the area?
A: When we work with multiple businesses of the same type in a given area, we always give equal service to all. What you can expect to happen in these situations is that the customer who's been with us the longest will likely outrank the newcomer until other factors can overcome the time lapse. All search engines value the age of a website very highly, but as things like customer reviews are added into the mix, the playing field evens out. If all elements are basically equal, the search engines have to decide which is more relevant based on the actual search phrase. The order of the words, and the actual words selected by the searcher will affect the search engines' judgment of the websites.

Q: Where will I appear?
A: We focus on the high-traffic places like Google, Yahoo!, Live, several social networking sites, and any industry-relevant directories. We cannot accurately predict the exact placement on those sites, but our expertise is driving quality traffic to the microsite, which requires prominent ranking on the major engines.

Q:Why will I not appear every time a search is done for my keywords?
A: There are many factors that the search engines use to determine rankings. Each particular phrase will have slightly different results, even if they are very similar. We structure the site to rank well across a broad range of terms and phrases, but some will perform better than others. The search engines change their formulas regularly as they refine them, so the terms your site performs well on may change over time. We do offer a Paid Ad Campaign option to our SEO customers, which directly addresses this very common concern.
